Marianne is 19 years old, and is studying at the university of Agder in Kristiansand (HIA).  She wants to be a teacher.

In addition to her studies, she works part time in one of the local groceries.

She has moved into her own apartment, and uses her spare time together with her boyfriend Håvard, dog Amy and rat Ludvig.

After several years with almost no interest for sailing, she has discovered that cruising is not as bad as she thought. Unbelievably she is dreaming of her own sailboat.
